Unit 1 — Money That Grows
4 lessons
Four lessons on the one idea that makes money different from anything else you own.
Grown-ups say money “grows,” which makes it sound like a plant.
This is the one piece of money arithmetic worth memorising, and it fits on a napkin.
A lot of grown-ups use “saving” and “investing” as if they were the same word.
This is the one advantage a twelve-year-old has over an adult, and it is a real one.
Unit 2 — Choosing
3 lessons
Three lessons on how to decide, so you stop regretting what you bought.
This is the first piece of real decision-making in the course, and it is a division problem.
There is a better question than “can I afford this?” Almost anything is affordable on its own.
This is the only rule in the course, and it works because it does not rely on willpower.
Unit 3 — Keeping Score
3 lessons
Three lessons on tracking it, storing it, and what a company actually is.
This is the least exciting lesson in the course and the one most likely to still be paying off in twenty years.
Most people never find this out, and it explains the previous lessons.
This is the last lesson in the course and the bridge to the next one.
